Two Easy Tassel Earring Styles

Tassel earrings are beautiful, stylish and EXPENSIVE! But it doesn’t have to be that way. You can make your own shoulder-grazing tassel earrings in the blink of an eye, the length and color that you personally prefer. It’s simple and fun. Plus, tassel earrings are substantial without being heavy – a major plus for fashionistas with sensitive ears!

Style 1: All Tassel, All The Time

You will need:

3.5 inch tassel (2)

Sterling silver medium swoop ear wire (2)

Needle nose pliers (2)

Begin with a pair of particularly beautiful tassels, approximately 3.5 inches long.

Make sure the tassels have a small loop or strap at the top, rather than a long cord loop.

Using your needle nose pliers, open the loop at the bottom of your ear wire. Make sure you open the loop to the side, as shown, rather than uncurling the loop!

Pass the loop of the ear wire through the strap or loop at the top of the tassel.

.

.

Carefully close the loop. Repeat all steps for the second earring.

This is how it looks when worn. They just touch my shoulder.

Style 2: Sweet Tassel Swinging Free

You will need:

2 inch tassel (2)

Sterling silver medium curved “V” ear wire (2)

Silver plated medium oval jump ring (2)

Needle nose pliers (2)

Begin with a pair of lovely tassels, approximately 2 inches long.Make sure the tassels have a small loop at the top, rather than a long cord.

Using your needle nose pliers, open one jump ring. Make sure you open the jump ring to the side, as shown, rather than uncurling the ring!

Slide the jump ring through the loop at the top of the tassel.

.

.

Carefully close the jump ring. The addition of the jump ring will help the tassel move more freely.

Using your needle nose pliers, open the loop at the bottom of your ear wire. Make sure you open the loop to the side.

Pass the loop of the ear wire through the jump ring at the top of the tassel.

.

Carefully close the loop. Repeat all steps for the second earring.

This is how it looks when worn. They are about an inch shy of my shoulder.

Feel free to play with different variations. If you’d like even shorter earrings, try the 2 inch tassels on the medium swoop ear wires. Experiment with different colors and shapes.
