  • What is it: Larvakite is an igneous rock, specifically a variety of monzonite notable for the presence of crystals of feldspar. Larvakite is usually rich in titanium, with titanagite and or titanomagnetite present. Larvakite occurs in the Larvik Batholith (a.k.a. Larvik Plutonic Complex), emplaced in the Oslo Rift (Oslo Graben) surrounded by ~1.1 billion year old Sveconorwegian gneisses (metamorphic Rock). The Larvik Batholith is about 292–298 million years old. Larvakite is also found in the Killala Lake Alkalic Rock Complex near Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada
  • History: Larvakite is prized for its high polish and the labradorescence of its feldspar crystals, and is used as dimension stone, often adorning the facades of commercial buildings and corporate headquarters. It is known informally as Blue Pearl Granite, although this is not an accurate description. Larvakite has other common names, such as: Larvikite and Norwegiean Moonstone
  • Metaphysical Properties: It is believed that the main metaphysical function of Larvakite is that it grounds and stabilizes you, which allows you to expand your mind. It calms/stabilizes your emotions, cleanses negative energies, protects from harm, and balances your spiritual connection.
  • Because gemstones are natural materials, appearances may vary from bead to bead
