- What is it: Charoite is a translucent, pearly, and rare silicate material. The discovery of charoite was sometime during the 1940s, yet it's considered a relatively new gemstone, as it was not introduced on a commercial level until 1978.
- History: The Mongolians were known to create ornamental objects from what was believed to be charoite, they would ceremoniously boil the stones in tea, which would be consumed with the belief that it could strengthen the ties of family, while providing all members with protection from evil spirits.
- Metaphysical Properties: Charoite is a wonderful, spiritual stone. It is a stone of acceptance and insight. Believed to provide healing on all levels: physical, emotional and spiritual.
