- History: Thulite was first discovered in Norway, and its name comes from the word Thule which was the ancient name of Norway. Thulite is the national stone of Norway, and it comes mostly from the Norwegian town, Leksvik. However, some deposits of Thulite have been found in Australia, Russia, and South Africa.
