Gemstone of the Month: Kunzite

We have beautiful new kunzite in our stores and we just had to share it with you!! Isn’t it so gorgeous? Kunzite comes in various colors including pink, green, yellow, lilac, and clear. Most kunzites are a stunningly subtle, faint shade of one of those colors, but these beauties are a little more vibrant and such a pretty shade of pinkish lilac. You should definitely come check these out in person!! They’re too beautiful to not come admire and pet them yourself.

First discovered in 1902 by U.S. mineralogist G.F. Kunz (hence the name), kunzite is a relatively new stone. Because of this it is not mentioned in any ancient sources, but it has quickly gained popularity for both it’s beauty and it’s loving, calming energy. Kunzite is most commonly found in Brazil, but has also been found in Afghanistan, Burma/Myanmar, Madagascar, Pakistan, and the United States.

Kunzite is a perfect heart chakra stone. Many people can hold kunzite up to their heart and feel the love radiating from the stone. It helps you to come from a loving place for your thoughts and communication. Kunzite is a stone that induces relaxation and releases tension, allowing the wearer to let go of the tightness and stress that we usually carry in our bodies. It is even believed to loosen tight, tension-prone muscles if held over them.
