  • What is it: Hemimorphite is a very rare mineral that forms as white, blue, or brown crystals with a shape resembling a cloud. It is mainly found in Mexico, but can be found in China, the Southwestern United States, and Italy. Hemimorphite gets it's name for being "half-formed," which means it has formed different terminations at each end. One end is pointy and pyramid like, while the other end is blunt. Mohs hardness of 4.5 to 5.
  • History: Gustav Adolf Kenngott, a Swiss mineralogist, named Hemimorphite in 1853. Its name comes from the Greek words hemi - meaning half and morphê - meaning shape.
  • Metaphysical Properties: Hemimorphite is believed to be a stone of empathy and encourages love and compassion in those who wear it. It is associated with the zodiacal sign of Libra and benefits the heart, crown and third eye chakras.
  • Because gemstones are natural materials, appearances may vary from bead to bead
