Description
- Approximate beads per strand: 130
- What is it: Herkimer diamonds are not actually diamonds, but double-terminated quartz crystals discovered in and around Herkimer County, New York. They are called "diamonds" because of both their high clarity and natural faceting.
- History: These crystals began forming about 500 million years ago in a shallow sea where sediments accumulated and lithified to form bedrock. While buried, cavities were formed by acidic waters, creating a space for the quartz crystals to be created.
- Metaphysical Properties: Herkimer Diamond is said to clear the chakras, opening channels for spiritual energy. It is specifically helpful in activating and opening the Crown and Third Eye Chakras.
- Because gemstones are natural materials, appearances may vary from bead to bead
