- Approximate beads per strand: 60
- What is it: Selenite is a crystallized form of Gypsum with a Mohs hardness of 2. Most often translucen or white, it is named after Greek word σεληνη meaning "the moon."
- History: In the 5th century, the Santa Sabina church in Rome was built with large arched windows made of sheets of selenite, not glass. The Greeks actually used selenite as windows to let light into their homes.
- Metaphysical Properties: Selenite is said to be a calming stone that brings deep peace. It is used often for meditation or spiritual work. Believed to clear confusion, aid in seeing the deeper picture, align the spinal column, and promote flexibility.
- Because gemstones are natural materials, appearances may vary from bead to bead
