Labradorite is a gorgeous semiprecious gemstone known for its iridescence and deep richness of color. A feldspar found in igneous and metamorphic rocks, labradorite is closely related to moonstone, larvakite and spectrolite. It was officially discovered on St. Paul Island in Labrador, Canada in 1770, but has since been found in early pieces of Native American jewelry. Labradorite is distinguished by its “labradorescence,” as it changes colors as light hits it from different directions.

Labradorite is a popular healing and meditation stone in many cultures. It is said to clear the aura and help keep it balanced. Labradorite brings joy, kindness and good fortune, and is considered beneficial in healing infections. It is associated with the astrological signs Sagittarius, Scorpio and Leo.

Bead World is proud to carry a wide range of different labradorite options. Our natural labradorite and our color enhanced blue and green labradorite stones are all absolutely beautiful. Come and see what all the excitement is about!
